How Powerful is the Mustang?
As usual, the Ford Mustang is one of the most potent vehicles ever created, as the base trim is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that kicks out a spectacular 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Depending on your preference, this engine pairs with either a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic transmission. If you move up to the GT, you will get your Mustang powered by a 5.0-liter V8 that blasts out 450 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, which also comes with a six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic. The Mach1 trim increases the horsepower to 470, making it one of the most powerful muscle cars on the market today! Rear-wheel-drive is standard across the board!
What Features Can I Get With the Mustang?
Five trim levels are available for the 2024 Mustang, and each one is filled with exciting features! The EcoBoost is the base trim, and it comes with 17-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, a limited-slip rear differential, a line lock, keyless entry and ignition, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 4.2-inch center display, and a six-speaker audio system. You can also opt for a High-Performance package which will increase your horsepower to 332, 19-inch wheels with performance tires, upgraded brakes with engine cooling, sport suspension, and an active exhaust system. You also get an upgraded gauge cluster with oil pressure, boost gauges, and unique exterior and interior trim elements. Moving up to the EcoBoost Premium will add 18-inch wheels, heated mirrors, upgraded interior materials, partial leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get ambient interior lighting. Several packages are also available such as the Stealth Package, which has 19-inch black painted wheels, black badges, a performance rear spoiler, clear taillights, and a lighted door sill plate. If you go with one of the higher trims, you will get more advanced items, such as rear parking sensors, Brembo brakes, a strut lower base, and a rear spoiler. The highest trim is the Mach1, and it more than lives up to its name with a unique active exhaust system, special 19-inch wheels with performance tires, Mach 1-specific sport suspension with adaptive dampers, Mach 1-specific styling details, and a digital gauge cluster display.
Is the Mustang a Safe Muscle Car?
Even though the Mustang provides some of the most impressive power you will ever find on a muscle car, you still get several safety features thanks to the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite! It comes standard with Forward Collision Mitigation that will warn you of an impending collision and can even put the brakes on if you can not hit them in time. You also get a Blind-Spot Monitoring system with Rear-Cross Path Detection which will monitor the areas around your Mustang so you know when it is safe to make a lane change; you will also know if any vehicles are coming up behind you. We also have to mention a Lane Keeping Assist system that will make minor steering corrections and help keep the Mustang in its lane if you drift!
